Shipping, Returns, and Terms and Conditions


The Staff at Modern Visions has had experience in retail furniture sales over a period spanning the last 40 years. We are of the belief that furniture should be both functional and esthetically satisfying in its setting and should be of high quality. We want you to be happy with your purchase from Modern Visions. Most items are therefore returnable and exchangeable if they are damaged, defective, or just do not work. Our customer service is here to help you.

Since we cannot cancel or return custom orders once they are placed, they are not returnable. They will be replaced in part or in full if they are defective, damaged, or fail during the manufacturer’s warranty period. If you have any doubts about colors or dimensions please call customer service before purchase. These custom orders are made in the United States or in Canada and they are of excellent quality, in most cases suitable for contract usage.

Our shipping and return policies are standard and are necessary for us to conduct business successfully. However, keep in mind that we will handle claims on a case by case basis. You are not just a number to us but an individual worthy of our consideration. We hope that you will be happy with your purchase and that in the future you will refer Modern Visions to your friends and family.

SHIPPING POLICY

We will provide estimated shipping times for all items. We cannot guarantee in all cases that the factory or shipper will follow thru on these estimates. We will do our best to provide tracking information on all items where it is available. On imported items, which are occasionally out of stock, we will provide you the customer with the estimated restocking date.

Most items will ship free within the contiguous 48 states. Smaller items will ship via UPS or FedEx ground. Larger items will be delivered curbside to a valid street address by a commercial trucking company. It is your responsibility to bring the merchandise from the curb into the house and to be home at the appointed delivery time. If you miss your appointment you will be billed for re-delivery charges. White glove delivery and set up in your home of larger items is available at an additional $150 charge.

All Shipments require a signature upon delivery. On small items, you may notify UPS or FedEx directly to waive the signature requirement. Larger freight cannot be dropped without a signature.

If items are incorrect, please notify our customer service department so that we can get out the correct items to you.

DAMAGES

You the customer will be responsible for being present and to inspect all items upon delivery. If you choose not to be present to inspect the delivery, you waive your right to returns and insurance claims. Please open all boxes while the driver is present and note any damages on the delivery receipt. By signing a delivery receipt without notations, you are accepting the entire order as being in good condition.

If items are damaged in shipment, you must notify us immediately. Please Contact Us or email a written description and photos of damages and cartons within 3 days so that we can put in a claim with our shipper. Items or parts will be replaced as appropriate.

If you refuse delivery of an item for any reason other than damages, you will be responsible for the freight charges both ways as well as a 40% restocking fee.

CANCELLATION

Cancellations of non-custom orders must be made within 24 hours of order placement. Credit of deposit will be issued in full. If by chance the order is shipped prior to cancellation, there will be a 40% restocking fee and the customer will be responsible for all return shipping costs.

All custom orders are from quality manufacturers in the United States or in Canada that offer excellent warranties and service. These orders are put into production immediately after they are ordered. These manufacturers do not allow cancellations at that point. Because of this, there are no refunds or cancellations on custom orders including situations where an item is damaged, defective, short, or slightly delayed. If you need more information in order to make a color or size selection, please contact our customer service. If there is a problem with a custom order, Modern Visions will promptly order you a replacement part or entire item as necessarily.

RETURNS

All returns of non-custom orders require a return authorization from us. We will not accept a return without such authorization. Call,Contact Us, or email us within 7 days of delivery for instructions or returns. All items must be disassembled and packed in their original materials and cartons and returned as new. The customer must pay all return shipping and insurance charges. Upon receipt of the item returned like new, credit will be issued for the cost of the item less our cost for the original shipment of the order which Modern Visions paid. If the item is returned to us damaged, the customer must file a claim.

PAYMENTS

Modern Visions accepts payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. At the time of the order, we will get approval for the full purchase amount but will only required a 50% deposit on non-custom orders. The balance will be charged to your account when the items are shipped. On custom orders, we will charge your account in full at the time of order placement.

You also may make a payment using PayPal, check, or money order. PayPal orders are automatically charged in full at time of order. Payment by check or money order must be made in full at time of purchase.

WARRANTIES

All items are warranted by the manufacturer to be free of defects in workmanship for a period of at least one year. Please contact us for specific information on warranties.

All claims under such warranties must be made against the manufacturer. Modern Visions itself does not offer any product warranties .

Please notify Modern Visions if you wish to make a claim under the manufacturer’s warranty provisions. Replacement or repair of parts or entire items, if necessary, will be handled expeditiously.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER

All orders are subject to the governing laws of the United States of America and the State of New Jersey. Sales tax will be collected only on orders delivered within New Jersey.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

To the extent permitted by law, neither Modern Visions nor any of its employees, related partners or their respective officers or employees will be liable in any way for any loss, damage, cost or expense suffered or incurred by you or claims made by you because of your use of this site, unavailability of this site, or in connection with any products, services or information advertised, offered or supplied through this site. Modern Visions maintains the exclusive right to cancel or refuse any order without limitation. Including price omission, incorrect price, typographical errors, suspicion of fraud, and delivery or retrictions.
